Here a couple that I have picked up along the way.
During WWII when my mom went to the hospital when my brother was born my dad was stuck with having to take care of me, I was about two. He had never really cooked in his life, it was like that in the old days. So he opened a can of green beans and tossed them into a pan of bacon grease and fried them. To this day I think it is a great way to do nasty canned green beans.
Pretty much the same thing is when I do greens, Swiss Chard, Spinach or what ever. I fry up a few slabs of bacon and take them out to drain. Then in the bacon grease I put in the greens long enough to wilt them. I put the greens in a bowl and drizzle with the bacon grease then crumble the bacon on top. Sprinkle with a little vinegar. Heart attack specials.

Since we all know that steamed veggies has the most healthy benefits besides eating raw, I would say by deep frying, or boiling veggies, whereby all the nutrients are cooked away would be considered the poorest way to prepare them.

Well, deep-frying isn't all that great. Any super-high-dose of fatty stuff isn't all that great. I'm going to go with potato skins. The only good thing about them is that they feature the skin, which has nutrients in it. It gets negative points for having most of the flesh scooped out, getting deep-fried, getting filled with cheese and bacon, and getting dunked in sour cream.

A little known fact:
Anytime you microwave a veggie, you zap some nutrients right out of it. So I would say any thawing or cooking done in the microwave yeilds the least healthy veggies.

Yeah.. anything that involves being DROWNED in butter or batter.. then being FRIED, then served with a horrendously fattening dip is pretty much as bad as it gets..
..oh the things my grams does with potatoes, also. She adds so much butter, they're YELLOW, haha.
but good. soooo good.

Oh, those deliciously bad things they sell...
mashed potatoes (made with butter and sour cream) mixed with cheese and bacon. then battered, then rolled in breadcrumbs, then deep-fried. dipped in a sour cream ranch sauce.
how can it get any worse???

Adding it is not bad, just do not cook the veggies too much, or eles it would take all the nutritional stuff inside of it, and would be considereed a dead veggie.
