She needs to Shower properly. Get some non-scented soap, because some soaps are scented and can irritate sensitive skin. Tell her NOT to use the store douche either. I don't know how old she is, but proper hygiene is essential. Take her to the doctor, she may have something more serious like crabs or lice.
Edit: Get unscented soap then, that won't cause irritation to her sensitive skin. I wouldn't give her bubble baths for awhile. Tell her to shower. I know my friends two kid takes showers and they are 6 and 7.5. years old. Has she been sexually abused?

First of all, little girls can sweat a lot so she should change her underwear each day and even twice if she's active and in a hot environment. Secondly, you didn't mention if she uses bubble bath. If she does, stop. This can cause itching. Also, make sure she has cotton underwear that breathe. No nylon.
Teach her to wipe front to back. If she is wiping after going pee and going back to front at all, she could be bringing bacteria forward and this will cause itching. Eventually she'll have a real medical problem.
The other thing is that she may not be scratching because her privates are itchy. Maybe it is her anus if she's not cleaning properly after a bowel movement...but it feels to her like everything down there is itchy. Our little guys use Kandoos at our place for wiping after a bm. They use toilet paper and then clean with Kandoos....not on the privates, just the anal area.
She may have nothing that is clearly noteable in a physical exam but something that is just starting. You can teach her to do a wash with just plain water before bed...no soap at all... and then put on fresh underwear. The reason for no soap is that if it isn't rinsed properly or goes into the vagina she's in a lot of trouble.

Go back to whatever toilet paper and detergent you were using before the problem started. Unless the doctor thinks that was the issue.
Make sure she is wearing 100% cotton panties. Don't use bubble bath. Maybe go back to using infant cleansing products without additives. Ditto for the detergents and toilet paper (brands without perfumes.)
Make sure your daughter cleans herself from front to back so as not to transfer bacteria from the rectum.
You can also try applying some A & D ointment to the area.
Good luck.
Hope she feels better soon or try a dermatologist.

I have a 7 year old daughter as well and went through the same problems. I took her back and forth to the doctors so many times. I found out that she had an allergy to soaps of all kinds ( bath soaps, laundry, ect). I can not use fabric softener or anything. I can only use DREFT or ALL (hypoallergetic) laundry soap on her. Nothing with perfumes either. I would stop using any bubble bath, softeners, or perfumes, ect. and see if there is any change.

I don't know if she uses bubble bath but that is a no-no for young girls. It can really irritate this area. Also you might take a urine sample to the doctor and see if she has a UTI, urinary tract infection. These are my best guesses. I have been a nurse for 16 years and I have an 8 year old daughter who used to have the same problem until we stopped using bubble bath. Hope this helps.

I would say it's time to get her in to the dr's.
Or stop baths, have her take showers with a glycerine based soap, or a mild soap. And make sure not to was inside there with the soap which can cause irritation, Also watch how she is wiping. That can cause an issue as well. Also eating yogurt can sometimes help.
But i would say if that doesn't clear it up , get her to the dr's asap!

maybe she had a slight yeast infection which cleared up, but she's got into a habit of scratching. Stop using all bubble baths and scented things in the bath, switch all bathing products including shampoo to unscented and soap free,, "Simple" do a range in the UK... you could maybe even switch to a "feminine hygene" wash for her as they keep the PH levels right...........
wash all her clothes especially underwear in a product suitable for babies (fairy snow) and if you use a fabric softner make sure it's for sensitive skin.. (comfort pure etc).......

It depends on how old your daughter is. Make sure that she washes her clothes and changers her undies everyday, that could be the problem. She might also want to take a shower everyday or every other, if she doesn't now. It could also be part of puberty. So, that's all i can think of. Good Luck!
