I don't have the 40GB PS3, I have the 60GB, and I don't see why the 40GB PS3 would be faulty because all of Sony's consoles are very reliable.

The 40GB PS3 doesn't have backward compatibility with PS2 games, but it's still a good PS3 for anyone to buy if they just want to get a PS3 just to play PS3 games and to be used for other multimedia uses.

No, it actually is more reliable then then 60 gb version not to say the 60gb version is bad or anything

No, in fact the 40GB uses 60nm cell processors instead of 95nm cell processors, so it doesn't get as hot and takes less energy.

Nope have u ever heard the saying : "LESS IS MORE" WLL....THIS DOENT APPLYS HERE the 60 is better but i think that they are both good
