Many others throughout history have gone without church and remained faithful to God, such as Abraham Lincoln. Not everyone feels they need a community as is found in a healthy church. I'm sorry your congregation has disappointed you, but don't let that discouragement keep you from seeking out other, more mature churches at which you can worship and grow as a believer.

Dear Armen,
Actually you are obeying God...see Matthew 24:15, 16 and Revelations 18:4. The church age ended in 1988. The Holy Spirit is no longer saving individuals in the church, regardless of the accuracy of the preaching. Satan is now ruling in ALL the local churches (2 Thessalonians 2)...He is know as the man of sin or son of perdition. 1988 was the initiation of a period called the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24). It is not a 7 years period as many preachers and teachers have suggested but a 23 year period.....whenever you see the number 23 in the Bible it always has to do with JUDGMENT. From 2 Peter 3, it appears that the end will be in 2011 AD, exactly 7000 years after the flood of Noah's day(4990 BC).
I hope this helps you.

You are tired of Christians letting you down? Christians are just like you. You have faults. Christian people have faults. If anyone goes to church thinking they're about to meet a sinless group of people they will be sorely disappointed. I loved church people because I could fit. I didn't have to pretend to be someone I am not.
Perhaps you need to look for a church that you feel comfortable in.

No God won't be upset with you. Churches are only made of man kinds beliefs and bad behaviors. Just get your life right, and stay on a good path and you will find that he never left, nor was he ever mad. I don't know as if I believe in a so called "God" as much as I believe in a Universal energy that has us all connected. I tend to believe that we have more control over our lives than anyone or thing has. We have the power to create or destroy our lives. so think positive thoughts, and go and enjoy your new freedom.
Good luck.

Maybe thats happening, because its your job to set the correct example! You are supposed to show everyone (including the Pastor), the right way.
You shouldn't quit church for that...if worse comes to worst, and you feel that you are not growing, then change your church.
Goodluck!

He commands believers to assemble with other believers, so if you are a believer and have decided to disobey that command, I imagine He will be displeased.
If you have not decided to disobey that command, but are merely deciding to seek another community of believers with which to assemble, that might be the right decision (though all Christians are sinful human beings, and as such, will always let you down eventually -- as a believer, I'm sure you let others down as well).
If you are not a believer, there are bigger issues than whether you are going to church or not.

Stop putting your faith in "Christians at church" and put it fully in HIM! Pray and seek Him about this. This may be His way of leading you elsewhere. I do believe we need to be a part of the body of Christ, which is the church. We need the fellowship of other believers to help us grow in our walk with Him. He wants us to serve Him by serving others. If we are not a part of the body, how do we serve and how do we find our place in ministry? Pray and ask Him to lead you where He wants you and needs you to be. God bless...

Perhaps you need to ask yourself if you want to keep getting disappointed and talk to God about it.
Some people here in Y/A R&S will just criticize you for what you just said. Ignore them

If your expecting things from other churchgoers, then I think you're missing the point of going to church.
