im looking to buy a lcd tv but i dont know what brand to go with im going with a 42" or 50" is there a web site that i can go to get more info thanks

You are right on, get more education. If it's an LCD you want, for sure, read the general information at http://www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com . Also read carefully the HDTV article in the 11/07 issue of Consumer Reports that looks at both performance and reliability. Then go to a large TV/electronics store and look at them. You will probably agree that the Sony XBR4 or XBR5 is the best LARGE screen LCD.
If you decide to also look at plasmas, read over http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com also. Top rated, and best buy for the buck in 42" or 50" plasma is Panasonic.

Go into the local electronics superstore. Just stand back and look at the wall of LCDs and plasmas and look for the best picture.

It will be a Sony XBR LCD. They come in 42", 46" and 52".

Sony was the leader last year, Sharp Aquous has come on strong in the last year.

Depends how much your willing to spend. Sony is the top of the line.
