it's true for the most part, however, there are some who can fight the system and win solo. the reason why i know is because i did it. i took a 0% nsc to 70% and my appeals pending will more than likely go through. i found that people weren't willing to help me past a certain point and i had to learn va's rules and regulations myself to play on their level. it worked. but i will also say that i have had had training in research in eligibility and policy and procedure. so it's the same game different rules.

i highly suggest those who don't know what to do to either find someone who has documented results or find a service organization to get the benefits that you deserve. and just so you know, va and ssa deny up to 70% percent of first time claims to play to odds that the claimant will not appeal and let it go. then they don't have to pay the claim.

I knew that. Throughout the twelve years I had to deal with the Disability Evaluation System I always encouraged the patient to use the good offices of a field service officer from DAV. They only failed on one occasion. Fortunately, the Medal of Honor Society got President Ford to overturn the action of the Navy's Physical Review Council and the member involved got his full rating under law.

That's right. VA representatives are in place to help veterans file claims for their different needs. If a veteran tries to go it solo, there's a good chance for severe delays or lack of response from the VA. They need to save themselves the hassle and make an appointment with a VA officer in their community.
