My sister and I live 80 miles apart and we don't see each other often..We are the only family we have. She and another gal friend came to my town to shop and she didn't ask me to meet with them. My feelings are hurt.. When I said something to her about it today, she said, I didn't know if you could get out of the house or not. Damn does she think i have bars around my house! She went to a shop where I go often and I would have enjoyed it. She was less than 20 minutes from me. I'm sorry to be such a whimp. If I were to say to her that it hurt my feelings, it would start world war 3, so i don't say anything. Just set here and stew. Am I being childish about this? I haven't seen her in 3 months.

I don't think that it is wussy for you to have hurt feelings over it. But from what you described I really don't think that she was trying to hurt your feelings. It sounds like she really genuinely just thought it would be fun to go shopping and she had her friend with her so they just went. Are you sure that there is no way that you can tell her that it hurt you without starting a huge fight? Because I think it would be best if you told her. But if you think it will cause stress amongst everyone then just let it go. I don't think she was ever trying to hurt you. Good luck!

I can understand the hurt feelings on your part, and you aren't being childish.
But I think at worst she was thoughtless. I have been close to some of my relatives and didn't let them know I was there because I really didn't have time for a visit and I thought a "hello, goodbye" visit would be more hurtful than simply not saying anything about it.

I think you are right in this situation. Your sister doesn't sound very nice. I would say something to her... if she gets mad so what?! She doesn't talk to you when she is 20 minutes away anyways.
