Catholic has no teachings of worshiping saints, but they didn't say it's forbidden.

Catholics do not worship saints. Catholics venerate them. Veneration is not the same thing as worship. Also, saints such as Peter and Paul are documented - in the Bible - as performing miracles in the name of God. You see, it's neither the man Peter nor Paul performing the miracle. Rather, it is God performing the miracle through the likes of Peter and Paul.

Many saints are patrons of certain causes. There is something for everyone, so a lot of people venerate the patrons saints of causes that the individual is involved with or can relate to. Many people like to promote their devotion to a partickar saint by wearing that saint's medal or whatever. There is nothing wrong with this.

First of all, some of the saints DID do miracles with the help of God. Think Saint Patrick and chasing away the snakes or Saint George slaying a dragon (guess why I know that 1) Anyway, the other things is that catholics do not worship saints, we look to them for advice and guidance, as well as an example on how to live a holy life. It is against Catholic Law to "worship" a saint because we can have no other Gods besides Yahweh.

Your friends probably mean well, just don't know the specifics of saint veneration.

1st, we do not worship saints. If we did, that would be idolatry. 2nd, we pray to them for help, intercession. It's no different than you asking a friend to pray for you. 3rd, miracles come from God only, and not the saints. They have no power on their own to effect miracles. If we do experience a miracle after praying to a saint, we simply credit them for their intercession.

God bless.

Catholics ask the Saints to pray for us when we need a miracle. The saint does not do the miracle, God does. We ask the Saints to pray for us because their prayers are sincere.

We do not worship saints we simply recognize there good works, I am catholic and I personally do not believe in saints, because they are simply part of the unwritten word created by men not God, I am sick of all the ignorants out there regarding Christianity, and much of it comes from Christians them selves, they are so dam brain dead they wouldn't know Christ or God if he was standing in front of them, they preach this holier than thou attitude, and they are just a bunch of hypocrites, and that is why I do not attend any church today.

Catholics do not worship saints, but they sometimes ask a particular saint to pray to God for them and to intercede. It's no different than asking another living human being to pray for them.

m21, does this answers show ignorance? Why on earth would these Catholics need to ask a saint to pray for them??? WHY??? I know that is the job of Jesus. We got only ONE mediator. You pray through Christ Jesus to get to the Father. I thought Catholics had a thing called Catechism? No wonder the Catholic Schools are shutting down. The children have no education. Instead of listening to the half asleep priest, they better start opening up their own Bibles!

,MHO...saint's are only conferred that status after many miracles! None of my catholic friends worship saint's, but they are reverred for who they are. Catholics that I know, worship God and do pray to the saint's to interceed to God on there behalf, as well as others. Our prayers, our words, our actions impact the heavenly realm, which impacts the natural realm.

Catholics are taught that the saints can interecede with God for you. You are not good enough to take your request to God.
