I think it's a good idea if your thinking about being sexually active. Even if you don't have any thoughts on it, I'd still probably carry one with me just in case. I don't have a son...(just 2 baby girls)...but if I did have a teenage son, I'd talk to him about it first and then give him a few condoms. But it also depends on how old they are!!!!

My mother had me at 15 years old and this was back in the early 1970's and she gave me up for adoption. Not so much different in this day and age today, as young women get pregnant at 14+ years old. My son has awhile to get condoms from anyone, he is only 6 and I hope that he learns to respect women, and wait until he is in a relationship. There is too much emphasis on the fact that people have to lose their virginity so fast, from peer pressure and so on. I was 21 when I lost my virginity, I was in a serious long term relationship which lasted 10 years. Better safe than sorry. Better to have a glove on than get her pregnant and give the baby up for adoption at 14+.

Kids today grow up a lot faster than when I was a kid. I don't have children, because I cannot have them, however, if I had a teenage son, or daughter, I would provide them with birth control. I would also educate them about how to use them, and why it's important. I personally think that absinence is best, however you cannot be with your children all the time. As a parent, the best you can do is to talk to them, but also have a back up plan. If they are going to have sex, I think it would be better to be sure they are having safe sex.

im in a child development class at UT and research studies show that the U.S. has a higher pregnancy rate than the rest of the world because we shun pre-marital sex and promote abstinence. abstinence doesnt work because you have a biological drive to want to have sex. i would say buy them, whether ur parents approve or not but dont keep them in ur wallet because u can wear the package and weaken the plastic of the condom. if ur parents find them and confront u, just tell them u r trying to be responsible if the moment shall ever come even tho u dont believe u should ever be in that situation but safe is always better than sorry. some parents are more open to their children than others, it's a fact of life.

My son is only 19 months so I don;t know HOW I will feel when he gets that age. BUT if young ladys are put on birth control by their parents, why not give their son's condoms? Personally, I prefer to teach my children complete abstinance, but I also know that I was not.

I do not. I have a teenager, a girl. And i instill in both of my kids that having sex before marriage is not the right choice. But waiting till you are done with school, in a stable relationship, and are finatially stable then it's time to have sex.
As far as people at school, i think they are pulling your leg, and trying to look cool.

I'm in high school too, but a girl. My mom will give me condoms if I ask for them, and a lot of my guy-friends are honest with their parents so their parents give them to them. I think it depends on the parent, and probably some on religious affiliation also.

that's horrible. i plan on having a son soon, and i will bring him up with the values that keep him from abstaining from sex until marriage..precisely so that he won't have to worry about knockin some girl up or getting an STD, or etc etc. - issues that come with casual sex out of wedlock.
