Hiya.
I'm a 32 year old woman. I weigh about 11.5 stone and I'm only 5 ft tall.
The weight has crept on over the last few years. I've had a couple of kids and I'm happy in life.
Problem is that although I walk along way to school twice a day, with a two year old on my back and generally pushing a double buggy with kids in as well (I'm a childminder), I go to the gym twice a week and I watch what I eat relatively well and I don't drink alcohol excessively, I cannot lose weight.
I'm quite flabby and although my general stamina and fitness is pretty good cos I can walk for miles, I can't shift the weight.
I'm wondering if I go to the doctor, whether they'd put me on some tablets to help? Or if anyone can suggest something else I'd be really grateful.
It's starting to annoy me now. I work really hard but it just isn't happening.
Please advise.
Many thanks.
A desperate JuJu

I need to be able to maintain the amount of walking I do with the kids, so I have to make sure I eat enough as well.
It's really hard. I know crash diets are not the answer tho.
Thank you for reading me.

try something new at the gym. your body has already adjusted to your current exercise program and works too efficiently at it. you need to jazz it up and work different muscle groups. do something that your not so good at.

Try Slimming World! I can't recommend it enough!

It's fab, you eat real food, can have a normal life.

Like you, the weight crept on and before I realised nothing in my wardrobe fit me right!

When I go out there's always something I can have to eat and drink, it's not a rabbit food diet!

I've lost 2 stone in 6 months with 2 holidays abroad in between. If I hadn't been on holiday twice, it'd probably be nearer 3 stone that I'd have lost.

Give it a go, I lost 5 pounds in my first week, and that included a weeked away in Durham!
It's nice to hear stories from other people in the same situation, it's great motivation!

Good Luck!

You need to do something more challenging. You're fairly fit now, but it's creeping up.

Go to the gym 3 times a week and work with a personal trainer to see what you can do to really tighten yourself up. It sounds like you need pilates or some kind of all-over training to tighten the flab.

Try reducing the size of your portions when you
eat. One the first day eat everything but leave the
last bite. On the second day eat everything but leave the last two bites. Continue until you are leaving the last 6 bites. Start over but this time
use a smaller plate. By the time you reach the sixth bite you will cut your portion sizes in half.
Over time this will reduce the size of your
stomach enabling you to eat less. When you get
the munchies snack on vegetables or fruit.
I've lost weight and have kept it off.

Cut down on something, or cut it out. I'm losing weight by cutting out soft drinks. Try to identify something in your diet that you don't really need and probably wouldn't miss..

I tried to lose weight for ages, then I joined my local Rosemary Collins group and within 6 weeks had lost 3/4 of a stone. My mum goes too and she has gone from 11st5 to 9st in about 5 months. They are really helpful, give u advice and its fun too. After I have my second baby I am going straight back I really enjoyed myself and its easy too.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

instead of walking try jogging a little.

also you can get over the counter pills that would aide your weight loss

although if you want to take those pills make sure you talk to a doctor or something. and also make sure that if you take the pills to continue the excersicing because the pills only work alongside physical activity

also instead of watching what you eat just eat smaller portions. only one fist full of wheat (rice and bread), two fists of veggtables, and one fist full of lean meat.

^^ that should be ither for lunch or dinner.

but if you step up just a little and jog for two minutes, then walk for two minutes im sure you would loose ALOT more calories

keep up the good work =]!

You can find diets specific to women. You don't need pills/tablets or medicine, what you need to do is research. Everybody has different body types, so everybody has different ways of staying in shape.
