If your doctor is on leave and unavailable, call his office anyway and ask one of his staff members this question. Tell them you need to know if it is ok to send your daughter to school. I'm sure they will refer your question to another physician. Just because you really want her to go back to school doesn't mean that she should be there. Mono is extremely contagious, and from my prior experience, your schools may require a release from the doctor prior to allowing her to re-enter school.

Im not really sure but when I had mono I was out for about a month. Its pretty contagious. Talk to the school about it too.

do not get too harassed approximately it, in the event you suspect that you simply would get your interval quickly, simply make certain you are taking a couple of, good what i name "woman merchandise" in... a few pads/pantyliners or tampons if you are constructive you'll be able to use them first time (some thing you are choice) and a couple of wipes and perhaps a spare pair of knickers. Its additionally a well excuse to shop for a horny little bag to position them in. Its well that you are already watching out for indicators and in case your healthful and feature already began going by way of puberty it would possibly not be lengthy... the timing of your first interval is constantly a thriller, that is why its unimaginable to position a time scale on it, simply be for your defend any further

There's two risks with disease: contagion and personal health. Mono is generally not very contagious, unless through direct contact (why it's sometimes called "kissing disease"). She shouldn't share drinks, food, or utensils with others (generally safer not to anyway) to minimize risk of contagion.

As for her own health, once she feels well enough (generally, once the fever's gone) then she should be fine to return to careful activity. Mono can return with over-exertion though, so she should be careful not to overwork or overstress; so it's important that she gets enough sleep, eats well, and doesn't overdo it in any sports. My poor sister kept relapsing all through her senior year in high school because she kept pushing herself once she felt okay.

most antibodics are effective after 24hrs so i'm sure that 72 hrs is enough for her to go back to school. She'll still have mono and might for a wk but she won't be contagious.
