what do you think of a person who just likes the chase -immediatley detaches emotionally once they get what they want. Relationship-wise, for example: if a guy and a girl were continuously flirting with each other, and there were sparks all over the place, but when they finally get together...nothing. it's lame and undesirable for her. She doesn't want him anymore...so, what do you think?

Sounds like the person who likes the chase but then lets go has some issues underlying it. It may just be an exploratory phase of his/her life though.

You only describe one episode. It might purely be that when she caught the guy - he's not what she wanted.

But if this happens again and again and again, you might find that it's not really the guys not being what she wanted ... but that she selects guys to chase and then is "oooh surprised" when they turn out not to be right. This would make you wonder - why does she do that? Why is she wasting her time in life?

Maybe that's all she knows - maybe her father has set up like that so the mother has to make all the moves ... chase and chase and then the father can hurt the mother - sort of game - and she thinks that's how relationships go.

Maybe there is a commitment-phobic part of her personality that makes her select unsuitable guys to chase

Maybe she really loves to chase and flirt and tease

*shrug*

Lots of possibilities.

I was with a guy like this, he lost interest once he got me .... I think it's a sign of immaturity for either men or women.
