Well the bible sais that our bodies are temples of god (I asked the same question and those were the answers). However, we all know smoking is not a good thing. If you can't quit smoking knowing how much harm it does to you, I don't think you'll do it because it's a sin

No. However it is a dangerous and filthy habit. It will cause all sorts of havoc to your body, and the sticky tar in the smoke coats everything in the area with nasty brown tobacco stain and smell.

The anti-whatever nuts have gone completely overboard with all the smoking bans and finger pointing and harassment. These people are more toxic than the tobacco, tar, and nicotine.

You are between a rock and a hard spot. The tobacco industry will make you die early for its own profit, and the anti-whatever nuts will ostracize and terrorize you for their own self-righteous satisfaction.

It is best to just quit smoking, and let the nuts and the industry find other targets than you.

Yes, because our bodies belong to Him. "..present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to God". Keep in mind that sacrifices to God in the old testament were to have no flaws. Ok, that in mind, remember only Jesus was without flaw, so only He could sacrificed Himself on our behalf. So while intentionally causing damage to our bodies is a sin, remember that God hates sin, not the sinner.

If smoking is a sin because it harm your body. Then over eating is a sin, unhealthy food is a sin, and obesity is a sin.

depends on what religion you are refering to.

Mormon religion yes it is a sin to smoke. Because the belief is that all mormons are an enbodyment of God.

Other religions i dont think so. But it could be something as simple as they don't like people to use things that distroy your temple ( ie your body).

LUNG CANCER
Also....

2nd hand smoke can hurt other people. My best friend has developed asthma because of her inconsiderate husband who smokes 3 packs a day.

So......he is sinning in that he is hurting other people.

If you want to smoke, do it alone...far away from anyone else.
