Immigration laws have been on the books for some time now. Our current immigration policy will increase our population by 4 times what it is today, by the year 2020.
Of that population increas, if current trends hold, the legal immigrants given citizenship will be 50% Mexican. Add to that number, approx. 20 mil illegals (80% of whom are Mexican).
Given the shortage of fuel and water currently we should realistically take over Mexico or stop/limit legal and illegal immigration.
Simplist and easiestis to limit immigration and stop illegal immigration. Amer. citizens are coming to realize this now.
The giant wall is only for show really. It is a waste of our money. Stop employing these people and they will no longer have a reason to come here.
It makes NO good sense to legalize the illegal people. Unless we wish to cripple and or kill the future of American in the rather short run and certainly in the long run.
The only reason this is an issue is that political entities believe they can secure the immigrant (mostly Hispanic) vote or they want these folks here to do cheap labor (which cripples Amer. citizens job opportunities and available work).
Once these illegals are citizens, they will want equal wages to other Americans, they will vote for (probubly) their own Hispanic politicians and the end result will be the taking over of the leading first world country in the entire world ...without fireing a shot.
In the meantime, thousands of USA youth die in a war to establish Democracy, half way across the planet for people that neither want or are willing to live in a Democracy.
The people leading the USA are either out to lunch or they are crazy. We can't and won't allow this.

well, the US has a quota of how many people it can take in every year w/ out threatening economic collapse. To many people at once, turns into the problem we have now, but people dont want to wait because the word has spread that once they get here the US gov. shoves citizens aside to cater to the illegal's every need, free of charge. Also, you have people that were criminals in their home country and dont qualify for immigration, so they just come on over anyway. And then, there are the peopel too lazy to research or learn english to pass the (incredibly simple) tests. It isnt hard to become a citizen, it just takes time.

Why should they??

I know that illegal immigrants come from every culture, and I don't mean to be racist against Hispanics (I am part Hispanic myself).

But I work in a hospital and cannot stand to see illegal after illegal come in and get full medical treatment, knowing they will never have to pay a dime...when I have so many other legal, American patients sick who can't afford meds, whose surgery they needed just put them in a severe financial, who have terminal illness and can't get all the care needed to save their life because they don't have enough money. Who will in turn, be hounded by the hospital, and eventually collections, for money they don't have and end up with ruined credit.

Another thing I can't stand is those who just expect everyone speak to them in Spanish, and get offended at those who can't/won't, and all the really good jobs I see where it's MANDATORY you be bilingual English/Spanish (never Italian, Polish, etc).

I am not against anyone wanting to live here and make a better life, my family did. BUT do it legaly, and contribute to society and taxes like the rest of us.

immigration to the U.S. is enough for the needs and benefits of the U.S. and has the potential in and of itself to cause over population. unfortunately just because you want or think you should be able to come the U.S. does mean you will or should be allowed to for a multitude of reasons. THE FOLLOWING IS FROM WIKIPEDIA take the time to browse the link in its entirety it's not a pretty picture. FROM WIKIPEDIA; Americans constitute approximately 5% of the world's population, but produce roughly 25% of the world’s CO2,[79] consume about 25% of world’s resources,[80] including approximately 26% of the world's energy,[81] although having only around 3% of the world’s known oil reserves,[82] and generate approximately 30% of world’s waste.[83][84] The average American's impact on the environment is approximately 250 times greater than the average Sub-Saharan African's.[85][86] This is, of course, a natural consequence of the U.S. producing about a quarter of the world's GDP.
With current consumption patterns, population growth in the United States is therefore more of a threat to the Earth's environment than population growth in any other part of the world [87][88][89][90][91] (currently, at least 1.8 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the United States each year; with the average Hispanic woman giving birth to 3 children in her lifetime).[92][93]
Paul Ehrlich made the point that a state or nation may have a large land area or considerable wealth (which implies, by conventional wisdom, that overpopulation should not be at play), and yet be overpopulated.[94] The U.S. state of Arizona, for example, has enormous land area, but has neither the carrying capacity of arable land or potable water[95][96] to support its growing population. While it imports food, using its wealth to offset this shortfall, that only serves to illustrate that it has insufficient carrying capacity. The only way that Arizona (and Southern California) obtains sufficient water is by extraction of water[97] from the Colorado River beyond its fair share[98] (and beyond its own carrying capacity of innate water resources), based on international standards of fair use per lineal mile of river.[99][100][101]

There are literally billions of people all over the earth who would love to become American citizens, and we let in legally well over 1 million every year. Plus, there are millions who come here illegally every year. The solution is to enforce our laws, secure the border, and to prosecute those who aid and abett the illegal alien invasion of our country.

Building a stout border fence, not a wall, is not the best solution, I agree, but it is better than letting the invaders in.

Because it costs $10,000 per child per year to educate a child and poor people can't pay for that, much less for the other things we subsidize for poor people. Their better life is at our expense and education and services for our own people are slashed to provide these services to those illegally here. This is particularly true under the no child left behind act which focuses all 'discretionary' funds on those failing, with no incentive to advance those who could excel with a much lower per capita investment. When our kids graduate middle school they are the only kids in the class who are NOT bilingual, since their language classes have been cut to fund ESL and intervention programs. Then jobs require bilingual skills, and our kids are the ones left out.

All countries in the world limit how many poor can come because they are a net cost. It is ruining our upwards mobility and opportunities for our own children.

Because mass immigration discourages integration, which leads to immigrants bringing the problems that made their old countries crap to the new country.

We let in more legal immigrants than any other country, there's just too many people who want to come here.

We can't let everyone in, otherwise the US would be like China and India. Overcrowded and struggling to feed a massive population. By the way, the US allows more immigration that every other country in the world, combined.

Why would not usa of america make it simpler for unlawful MURDERERS to alter into legal? Why would not usa of america make it simpler for unlawful Pedophiles to alter into legal? Why would not usa of america make it simpler for unlawful Drug Smugglers to alter into legal? Are you getting it? lol. I do consider you nonetheless, that we ought to constantly make the Immigration technique simpler and speedier. i'm fascinated by somebody that desires again right here by employing legal potential, be a efficient member of our society and stay by employing our regularly occurring concepts and ideology again On Down. yet, in case you're coming right here to take income, be a burden and only make the rustic a similar drained cesspool you attempt to get faraway from, then Begone! As for the Illegals that are already right here? the ought to flow and attempt again back by employing legal potential. we choose something to maintain Illegals out. they're a drain on the platforms common and we've policies and rules for a reason and no person ought to be Rewarded for Thumbing their nostril at them. thank you for the question.

Correct.Building a wall is no solution. That's why I have been a staunch advocate of machine gun nests. We are populated enough. We already have a plethora of people who can't speak English good enough to make more than peasants wages and have to rely on the scraps that hit the floor.
