First, it's to get to know eachother more psychologically. Understand how the other views child rearing, how they feel about the responsibilities of house and home and family. I know it seems like things you may have already spoke about, but now there's a type of freedom from feeling 'wierd' about sharing you're inner most thoughts because they CAN'T reject you.
Second, it serves as a ritual 'separation' from single life. From now on, it's a life of two become one. Every major change in life should be accompanied by a celebration or isolation retreat to separate the OLD LIFE from the NEW LIFE.

I'm going to assume you already know about the birds and the bees, and if not, ask your momma. My husband-to-be and I are going on a cruise to the Bahamas, so we'll be seeing plays, going gambling, tanning, visiting the ports, shopping, dancing, etc.
I'm excited :P

Besides the obvious.....it's just like being on vacation....you sightsee, go out to dinner, go dancing, just have a great time with your new spouse

Well they take a vacation some where and have lots of time with each other alone to.... hang out...and.....be alone...and........well if you cant figure it out then you shouldn't have one.
