Yes! "And lo, the Great Pumpkin will drop from the sky, blotting out the sun and turning all black! He will rain down seeds of stinging death, that shall burrow beneath the skin of 1/3 of the worlds people, and cause pumpkin vines to sprout from their rib-cages. This will be followed by the Four Pumpkins of the Apocalypse, who will each claim 1/3 of the planet as their own (I never understood the math behind all of that. After all the percentages gone from one death or another, only ten people will be left!)! Pumpkin filling will drop from the sky, smothering 1/3 of the planet...." and so on and so on. Geez, even joking, it's as boring as the bibles account.

Linus is the Great Pumpkin's most faithful follower, so I'd say he is the most deserving. :)

the story of "The Great Pumpkin" was written by a sunday school teacher.. the creator of "Peanuts"
- (Charlie Brown and Gang) -
is a parable on the futility of children's belief in santa.

further evidenced by the Charlie Brown Christmas Special that speaks against holiday commercialism.
