"Word cannot display Help.
This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?"

That's what it says everytime I open up a new or old document on Microsoft Word, or when I minimize a document and reopen it, or even when I change from viewing one document to another.

I click no, yet it always asks again. I've had this for a while, and it is very tiring.

I am running Windows XP and cannot find my Word cd, nor do I have any wish to install anymore features. It works fine as it is!

Any help to get rid of this would be greatly appreciated!

Word is looking for its help files. Until they are installed, the message will keep popping up. You can get the current help files free from Microsoft.

The Word 2002 download link is below. If you have a different version, search for: Word [version] help install files
Replace [version] with your current version of Office.

You can try opening a Word document
click Help, click "Detect and Repair"
You may or may not be asked for the CD.
I have used this feature a couple of times and it is most helpful, however, if you cannot locate the CD, you may be out of luck.

Open Word. Go to Help and then click on Show the office assistant. If it comes up right click on it and go to options. Then uncheck Use office assistant and click OK. If that does not work try running Help and see if that clears it up.
