My newborn puppy has been hand fed since yesterday with a formala but it hasn't pooped at all. I know it's weird but I'm just worried. She has peed and that's it. Is there a problem?

Newborn puppies can not poop or pee on thier own. The mother stimulates them by licking them in those areas. You will need to step in and be the mother....you will need to stimulate her to poop. Take a warm washcloth and rub the area...you will see..she will poop.

This could possibly be an abdominal issue with the young puppy. Try to stimulate the puppy's bowel by gently massaging the puppy's abdominal area for a least 5 minutes or more so. This will help losen any bowel that may be stuck in it's intestinal track. Also this will help stimulate the bowel to move easier through the tract. This motion is what most mother dogs do to their puppies to simulate effiecient bowel movements. You should do this through out the day and night. Make sure you massage it's tummy GENTLY. If you see no progress then I would suggest taking the pup to a near by Vet.

Puppies under three weeks old can't eliminate on their own. You need to stimulate them to go by rubbing the genital area with a warm moist washcloth. Do this after each feeding.

How old? Newborn? Sometimes you have to give it some time to digest food. Sometimes formulas can give puppies constipation, I would give it one more day then call a vet and ask about a good laxative. Or something to get the bowels to move. I wouldn't worry too much since most puppies don't always poop until they've had a lot to digest.

the mother makes them pee and poop with her tongue. i know, its gross. all u need to do, is get a soft rag, put hot water on it, wait till it cool down to at least warmish, then just bruch the rag on the puppie's behind, and that should do it. =] hope this helps!
