Could This really help people who are albino and cant go in the sun, It seems kinda dangerous, I never heard of such a thing. I was righting a report on new technology and I found this website, and I dont understand exactley what it does is it for people with albinoism.

Generally, the hole in people's irises gets bigger or smaller depending on the amount of light present. People who are albinos don't have any pigmentation, so part of the problem is even when their irises change size it doesn't help block part of the light from entering their eyes, so too much gets in when out in the sun. Presumably if the insert is dark enough to block excess light from entering the eye, it would help. However, implanting this thing in the eye seems a rather risky procedure compared with just getting colored contacts, or dark glasses which could also help correct other problems such as near/farsightedness at the same time and be much cheaper and safer.

I think the benefit for albinism is the elimination of the red iris. Too often people are frightened by the red irises of albinos, if this could be eliminated it could aid albinos with sociability.

actually, the "hole" is called the pupil. it regulates the amount of light that enters the eye. since pigmentation, or colours of our eyes, skin, etc is dependent on the amount of melanin for which people with a condition known as albinism have very few of or total absence of melanin. hence, the retina, or the nerve inside the eye maybe damaged by the harmful effects of the sun as the iris lacks pigmentation to shield the effects of the suns rays.

It just looks like a way to change the color of your eyes which helps albinos also.
