Australian terrier! – Most people have never seen one and have no idea what they look like and their personality. This is not a common breed. Here is a picture of mine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/11886874@N03/1198136069/
These are outstanding little guys. With the amount of energy they have, unless they are hurt, why would you want to carry one? As with most terriers, they have an independence side. Little minds going zip, zip, zip. You have better luck with a poodle. We did when we had poodles. Most Aussies I know weigh in around 18 pounds; you must have a big purse and a strong back.
Also - Girl Aussies are harder to train than the boys. They get board easy and what to their own thing. They can be escape artist, and if they find something to chase, then goodbye.
In the picture notice the beautiful coloring and the ruff around the head. Aussies are show stoppers. Do not hide it in a purse. The world needs to see your great dog.

It's sad the number of "purse puppies" I've seen who have practically no muscle tone in their hind end, due to being carried everywhere so they don't get a chance to walk and naturally exercise their hind legs and hips. I saw a four year old Pomeranian who could hardly stand up, because she had no rear end musculature. She was all roach-backed and wobbly, not to mention the fur around her barrel was basically worn away and had grown back funny from being held all the time.
I can only imagine the toll it will take on their hips and knees as they get older.
And if you have to teach your dog to "hide" in it, then you need to reconsider the places you're thinking about taking your dog!

Dogs were meant to Walk, not ride around in purses. Terriers are very high energy, and I'm sure if she wanted to ride around in a purse she would.

She's not an accessory. Dogs are meant for walking, not for hiding and get stuck in a purse. Poor dog.

Dogs have 4 legs.... They would rather walk then be carried in a purse. Forget the purse idea, Dogs hate it and besides it looks so stupid.

It's not impossible. You need to work with her some. It's just like teaching her to sit and stay. Just in a different spot. If you have the time and money enroll in a class that teaches the pooches these things. If not that, then maybe find a book and read up! Otherwise you'll just have to work with her with treats and praises!

Another Paris wannabe ..
You don't train her to sit in a purse .. I wouldn't want to sit a purse. Neither does your dog.
SHE WANTS TO BE A DOG, and play and runaround .. Not an accessory.
