lol guilty and if that doesn't work I say will you shut up already and knowing my family that won't work either so I just pause it and tell them what's going on.

I quickly reply something like, "just one minute" or "I'll tell you during commercials" and then when there is a commercial, I tell the person that I would appreciate it if they wouldn't talk during my show and if they want to know what I'm watching or what it's about , for them to wait until a commercial or they see a chance in the film for that opportunity.

Nope - I tell them. Interaction with the people around me is more important than a TV show - anytime.
EDIT _ disconcerting answers- you value your family and friends that little you're so blatantly rude to them - one person even calling them losers? Wow. And people wonder why they get treated rudely in other situations. Maybe you should all stop wondering.

It is so annoying when someone wants you to catch them up on a show while its on!! They could at least wait until commercial!

My standard replay is that if they had wanted to know what's going on, they should have watched it themselves. I do not catch people up on the plot, esp during the show.

nope i have DVR so i just pause it and answer... I am not so into a show that i ignore my family. They are my #1
