They have no choice but to be adamant, because they don't have any proof except "it's written in the Bible!"
Christianity is based on just a book. Christians feel insecure on being asked questions because they don't have any other proof. If anyone discovers something which disproves anything in their book, they try to silence those. People can get so fanatical about "the word" that they are ready to kill others if they don't agree with it.
This insecurity leads to fear that what they have been believing might not be true at all. But they don't want to even hear or think about it being wrong. Kill any messenger who even mentions otherwise, and try to get as many people in your religion so that it appears more credible, that appears to be the Mantra of Christianity.

Secrets such as? You claim Christianity embodies secrets, but you do not provide any examples of anything Christianity is allegedly attempting to keep secret.
Think carefully before you decide to elaborate. You ability to elaborate will suggest there are no secrets. After all, if something was a secret, how could you possibliy know about it?

you're obviously not a Catholic. I don't know why people always hate Catholics, but they are so adamant about their religion because of the dogma they were taught -- and they probably do love God and the Blessed Sacrament.

wen u lik somthn, u tend to b possessiv, irrespectiv of the set backs in that thng right... ppl cnt take it wen it comes to sensitiv issues lik religion coz it kinda que's their very strength, belief, faith etc... am an atheist but born into a Hindu family.so by birth, am supposedly a hindu. i cant take it wen sombody points a finger @ hinduism coz i feel that they are not aware of teh complete meanin of the religion called hinduism.ders more to a religion than god.its about practises, customs etc... can u believ wat a believers mind goes thru?
each 1 wud believe that the other sect doestn knw the inner truth / strenght of their religion. Dey also wudnt wanna tolerate the fact that a diiferent sect / religion can override their believes- watevas been taught to them as the ultimate truth since childhood.

Tradition, scarifice, the everlasting love of their god. The need to controll its members is the secrecy. It keeps their people focused with the unkown.

Christians and Catholics are not mutually exclusive terms, btw. Catholicism is one branch of Christianity. The answer to your question is this: The adamant attitude is actually faith.

not sure about catholics, but my religion is based entirely on the bible. you can read it stem to stern. no secrets there.
individual catholics may be Christian, but the official doctrine is certainly not. Christ said the work of God was to believe on him (Christ) whom he (God) sent. The catholic doctrine is one of faith plus works, including such things as you must be catholic, must be baptized, must believe the mystical cracker (Blessed Sacrament) actually is the flesh of Christ, etc.
Read Council of Trent. Christians, or 'protestants' if you prefer, are pronounced anathema a zillion times in that document. Your own church says we're different.

The Bible tells us that if anything is secret it is not of God. We are to be open in all things, and honest in all things. He reveals all to us. When we read His Word. Secret is of Satan. Satan sneaks around trying to destroy all he can.
