I was eating black beans but they gave me tooooo much gas so I switched to a mix of oats & 100% whole wheat bread. The thing is I definitely saw good results from eating the beans & I havent with the oats & bread. The goal btw is muscle & weight gain.

definetly not...whole wheat breads are not healthy carbs they are heavily processed.

if you soak the beans in water overnight before cooking them you will not have the same problems with gas. this also works for lentils which are another great low GI high fiber complex carb. keep the processed carbohydrates to an absolute minimum. bread should not be a staple in the diet.
