He said he doesnt like babies??

Question

My new best friend was coming over with her live in b/f last night to play board games with me and my husband and let our son's play together. She has a 4 and 5 year old. I have a 6 year old and a 4 month old. She calls and is mad and says that her b/f is not coming, just her. so i am like whatever ....... He ends up coming anyways thought but she whispered to me that the reason he was being a butthead was because we have a new baby and he thinks babies smell funny and didnt want to come over cause he just doesnt like babies.

can u believe this? My baby is good too.... doesnt even cry really....... and my baby smells good..... lol

He is 33 and has one kid but his kid is 14..... so it's been awhile.

Is this shallow? what should i make of this? I feel offended.

Some don't like babies, I always wanted one but never hold other people's babies or change diapers. If I had a baby I would take good care of it but would rather it was over 9 months old before I would find it fun to have. They are cute from about 9 months to 18 months then I prefer not to be around them much until they are about 6. My mom can't stand little boys between 7-9 but raised two and had grandkids now she is amazed how well behaved her great grandson was at the age.
We don't all like the same things, he doesn't like babies, at least he doesn't shake them.

For being 33 and having a 14 year old of his own, he was acting like a baby himself. Maybe he is jealous because babies get all of the attention and he wants it all.
I would just shrug it off as this guy being incredibly immature.

Well, there are lots of people in this world that don't like babies. That is his right, BUT if you have plans to visit someone that has a baby, you don't complain,you suck it up and go on with it and put on a happy face.

I can understand you being offended, but just let it go. Sounds like he had a bay very young and it left a bad imprint on him.

He's being an ignorant a** I don't get why he would be that way around a baby when he has a child of his own. There's either another reason or he has some issues he needs to deal with. But don't worry about him. He's not your husband so don't let it get to you.

I wouldn't make a big deal of it if I were you. Some people have weired quirks. If you still want to invite them over then go ahead. He'll either get over it or just not come. This sounds like more of a problem for your friend than it does for you.

look , i am 14 , but thought i adore babies, maybe its cuz they are my cousins and the first twins in my family and the first male cousins, but i adore them

its really his problem , i think u should advice ur friend to make him visit a therapist , and for u , u shouldnt feel offended , u should feel pity for him , cuz obviously he sucked at baby care , and his wife/ kid have problems with being clean .

Well, I'm allergic to babies myself. Maybe he is too. Or maybe he had a bad experience, like, maybe he was attacked by a baby once.
My advice is to continue inviting your friend over. If he wants to be with her, he'll start taking his baby pills. What a chump.

Why are you offended because he doesn't like babies? He didn't say he didn't like your baby, he said he doesn't like all babies. Get over it. Some people just don't think babies are that cute.

i think its weird of him to say that! i mean, its not his baby, and all babies are different. the thing is, you cant let it bother you. he was being stupid and judgemental when he has NO idea what hes talking about! you know your baby isnt bad or gross, so dont worrry about what he says!
