No, you cannot grill the sausage in the wrapper. Most of us grill at such a high temperature, you would see the plastic start to melt. Also, you wouldn't technically be grilling, as the plastic would shield the sausage from the heat at least for a brief time. You would almost be steaming, as the wrapper would trap the moisture inside.

No, take it out from it's wrapper and put them in a skillet, to fry on the stove top, if you only have a grill, then just put the sausages directly on the grill with a little oil, so they don't stick.

I've seen it done many of times while working near Mexico. It tripped me out at first but I didn't say nothing. I just watched. The fire was very hot. It didn't melt the plastic. When the sausage was almost done they took it out of its plastic rapper and grilled it a little longer so it would darken a little and have the smoke flavor. They didn't set and baby set the grill. lol

Actually seen a guy do it. . Indirect heat results in the package swelling up as steam escapes the meat. Ultimately you wind up steam cooking under slight pressure. He would then cut them out and brown them over direct heat. Super juicy sausage, but I prefer direct grilling myself.
