There are companies that can find jobs for you, probabaly best to try searching the net first or look in the daily papers. The Sun and The Mirror have adverts in the back half of the paper after the horoscopes etc from companies advertising to work in the US or Canada.

The only way you can come here and work, legally, on a work visa is to get hired and sponsored by a US business. The business takes care of all the paperwork and gets the visa for you. You must have a college degree and a skill that's in demand in the United States. No visas are available for unskilled labor.

there are vans driving around the airport, white and unmarked, that can make all the indentification stuff you need to get and job anywhere in usa. high-grade printing and photograph on a cash-and-carry basis.
since you are a great english speaker, no problemo. usa has no borders. anything goes.

Apply to the place where you would like to work.
Also pick a place you would like to work near to where you would like to live.
Living in Texas and working in Ohio might be too much of a commute.
