Burn you concepts and dance.
Burn your Holy books and join me.
Throw away your medals.
Throw yourself into the fire, for this fire is life itself. : )

S. B.: Dancing we raise each other higher, here there are no leaders, only the fire and we see stars everywhere.
*O my God/Goddess, it is full of stars*!

Yes. The fire burns from within me. It consumes me. It is truth. It burns the pages of the holy books, leaving only what truth is there that needs no words. And then, in the ashes I lay, fully awake and blissful.

The Phoenix arises from who you were, but this doesn't happen in an instant. It's a growing process. For the phoenix to arise you must keep letting go of those parts of yourself: concepts, teachings, wisdom, beliefs, etc.
To let go of what you are clinging to, you need to be present to be able to observe in order to gain knowledge about what you are hanging onto. Otherwise what you are hanging onto is invisible to you, it's hidden and hidden becauase it is you.
To be able to be present you must practise being present, this practise is known as meditation. The more you practise meditation, the more you will grow in your ability to be present in the moment. For each part of your personality you let go of, this energy will be used to grow a wing of the phoenix. This is metamorphosis. The only way it can be done is by surrendering the habit of being you.
I share some poems I wrote related to this question:
Tornadoe vortex
twisting apart foundations
new life comes from old.
Frozen personalities
break apart under pressure.
&
Waves of energy
massaging tired body
forgetting myself.
Interest lost in worldly things
the treasure is here right now.

Hmm...a trial by the fire which lights itself and burns with a restless flame? Or is this the fire that consumes from within?
When we dance will we look like the flames?

Everything is true. Everything burns, and if it doesn't, it melts or vaporizes eventually. An atom may be smashed. Fusion and fission in their proper places and times. Any of these ways, the concepts are broken down, the molecules split, the stoichometry is preserved. In consummation, there is no loss--all that is burned shall form anew.

Concepts, books, medals
all dance to the glory
of my physical self
not for me...
for I am
the 'havi'
in the eternal 'yagnya'
burn I shall
as 'aahuti'
and merge
and lose my all
and rise again
as 'vibhuti'
which cures
as a phoenix rising
cleansing with its tears
tears of joy
of deliverance
of knowing
the truth itself!
