A dogs first heat can be usually anytime from 6 months to 1 1/2 years ol. then they usually have every 6 months.
If you are not planning on breeding it is best to have her spayed before the heat. No mess, no chance of an accidental breeding, and can help prevent some cancers.

When she is about 6 months old. She stays in heat for a month and bleeds for two weeks. A girl dog is in heat usually twice a year. Hope this helped!

Anytime between 6 months and a year. My female didn't come into heat until nearly 12 months old, and that is perfectly normal.
