It is expensive. First off, contact the vet or different vets and see if someone will work out a payment plan to help get your dog the med. If that fails contact the animal shelters and beg them for help.
My cat had parvo and I was lucky to know a vet who sold me the antibiotic at cost ($ 7.00) then she told me to save any liquid antibiotics from my children (they are good for one year in fridge even if they discolor) and use them for the cats and dog as needed.
Hope this helps, my heart goes out to you.

It varies from vet to vet. Some will do it for free others charge varying fees. If the only reason you are putting the dog down is because you can't afford the treatment try contacting your local humane societies. Some of them will help pay for veterinary treatment or may be able to refer you to a subsidized vet who can treat him for little or no money.

have you tried the pdsa or talked to your vet about spreading costs, I am assuming your pup isn't insured. If not contact a rescue centre as they can help even if it means them taking the pup from you. In future please always consider that no animal is ever going to be cheap and they all need vets treatment at some time. Our rescue dog cost us £2000 in the first year of having her as we didn't know she was pregnant when we rescued her and she was very ill, we ended up taking on extra work to pay for her, the pup we kept out of the litter cost us £400 as he had food intolerance and one of the other pups underwent open heart surgery at £2000. Have you considered taking on a part time job to pay for treatment ? next time please think about the cost and heartache of owning a dog,our animals are always with us for life and we take a lot of responsability for this .

If you do not have the money to take the puppy to the vet, go to the shelter it will cost less. I am sorry about the pup. Hopefully you will not get another pet before your financial situation improves.

Please find a vet that will take payments and never ever take on a pet again if you are not going to treat it as if it were your child! you would not say my child has aids and i have to put her to sleep because i cant afford it !!!!! find a place that will help u call every name of vet in the phone book and tell them that u have to make payment sand are willing to and u better make the payments if one does take you . it is so very selfish of u to take on an animal an then not take care of it when it gets sick you just put it to sleep! shame on you!!!!!

Please don't ever adopt another dog.

Can you put this one up for adoption?? If parvo can be treated, someone will take care of him.

No, I don't understand it! I can't imagine wondering how much it is to put a dog to sleep because I can't afford to care for it. It's as if you're asking because it might be too expensive for you to put him down, and then what are you planning on doing?

Did you take him to the Vet or are you just posting this because you are guessing?? I know you are only 13, but you need to get your parents to take him to the vet ASAP. You are breaking my heart, this poor puppy need help or to be helped to the bridge so he doesn't suffer. Please don't let him die an awful death!!
