For background, please read this article, which I wrote, before responding. (It's a NON-commercial site, so this is not "solicitation") --

(I could have included it in this question, but this is less cumbersome. Now and then, the Back button from there *seems* not to work. I don't know why. But if it happens, just click on that button several times, *rapidly*, and you'll return here with no problem.)

The only strategy I've ever seen Republicans use is terroristic.

When that doesn't work, let the brother count the votes or find a county in Ohio that was really P.O.'d at Gore and let them do the manipulation.

Peace.

well, without campaign finance reform it really doesn't matter whether the votes are counted correctly or not. when our political leaders are beholden to their corporate backers the voice of We the People means zip. politicians simply pass laws that advantage their fellow "haves and have mores", even go so far as to start wars so to pad the offshore bank accounts of the stockholders in Big Oil and The Military Industrial Complex. our Nation has become a plutocracy and if We the People don't demand that our Constitution and Bill of Rights be upheld we will be soon living in a fascist plutocracy.

PS. most of our Democratic Congress has still been handing our smirking little wanna-be king everything he wants on a silver platter. it's not just the Republicans who are corrupt.

I'm not sure why you asked this in R&S, but there is a lot of overlap between the Republican right wing(nuts) and the fundamentalist wing nuts.

I'm always struck by how much the philosophy and practices of the Republicans, especially the group in control since the mid-90's seem to resemble the totalitarian regimes of the fascists and communists they claim to despise.

I have nothing to say other than I believe your quote, "It's not the votes that count; it's who counts the votes", is misattributed to Joseph Stalin.

I'm sure that quote belongs to Bill "Boss" Tweed.

Oh, and I'm a registered member of the Republican Party.

Who says the reposting questions is against community guidelines? I believe that's Yahoo. Is this a Democrat strategy, too?

No. It's key democrat strategy. Don't forget: When Al Gore asked for recounts in Florida, he only asked for recounts in democrat counties, thinking he could get some extra votes this way. When this didn't work, and Bush still won in Florida, then Gore decided to go for broke and ask for recounts in all the counties. He was sly, but Bush still won. Thank God.

It helps if your brother is governor of the deciding state.

If nobody voted for Bush,,how did he get a two year term? Better think again....most of the space between the East and West Coast, contains people who think just like Bush...and what are you all going to say when Mama Hillary gets beat by Mike Huckabee? Once again,,,someone miscounted the vote? What poor losers, the Democrats are...little children...who want revenge because they lost...sad lot.
