It seemed that couldve played a factor but he was just not being able to have a good car every week and every week wasnt the COT car so i dont know the new format was only part of the many issues dale had. but i do think if not for the new format he would of still been barely in the chase. hope that helps

No, he would not have made, he had the 100 pt penalty from early in the yr, plus he just had way to many blown engines..

He missed it under the Old format of top 10 drivers in points so it was expanded to top 12 drivers in points and he still missed the Chase so your answer is NO!!!!

No. He got docked some points for rule infractions, didn't matter. You have to be in the top twelve in points to QUALIFY for the chase.
A lame idea from the France family. Jeffy Gordon got scr*wed out of the championship this year.

He would have been in the chase if not for the COT penalty or even with 1 or 2 less blown engines probably. He just barely missed it.
