I have a 9 and a half week puppy and he is quite furry but none of his parents were furry, will he stay like this for the rest of his life or will his coat go short and smooth in the future

He is a mutt there is no telling what he will look like. He may not even be what you think he is as the pups in the litter could all have different fathers. His mother was not breed responsibly so you have no clue what you have.

Rottweiler puppies can be fluffy little fur balls when they are young. It most likely will change as he gets older. Presa Canario have a very very short coat so I am sure your little fluff ball will end up with short hair.

I love powerful dogs, they are great!! I would be more concerned about proper training and socializing this dog....good luck to you and anyone who comes across your dog!!

I would imagine that he could possibly stay that way, presa's aren't fluffy at all, they are born with the short hair, but rott's can have that thicker hair... sometimes almost curly (depends on the gentics). Maybe it will grow out, but it's sounding like he's got more of a rot coat than a presa's.

I would say that is just puppy fur . It will grow in different as it gets older. Since but breeds of dogs are short hair. Unless there is a mutt somewhere in there genes.

Be patient. He's just a pup right now and typically neither of the dogs he is crossed with have thick coats, so i'm sure he'll grow out of that.

when our dog had crossbreed puppies the ones that were still fluffy after 6 weeks old stayed that way, try asking your vet as they will probably have more info to hand
