Hi. So, I'm going to preach, AGAIN, and express my opinions and I would like to know how you feel.
Todays topic is...
RELIGION!!!
Okay, so, to start my preach, I personally, do NOT believe in God. I believe in a higher power, but I do not believe that that higher power created two people who "ate the forbidden fruit"(had sex) and who had a million children who had a million children with eachother. I also don't believe that this higher power currently controls everything that happens in the world. I believe in evolution, and the fact that we are in control of out own lives. Now, this higher power does NOT have the answer to everything. So STOP TALKING TO THE SKY, AND COME BACK TO REALITY!
Next, the whole sin thing. Yeah, that doesn't work for me. What, the seven "deadly" sins are Lust, Greed, Sloth, Envy, blah blah blah... Everyone at some point in their pathetic life is going to feel all of these things at least once. YOU CAN"T CONLTROL IT! So, I'm out of room. I'll check answers!

No, I do not have anything against christians or catholics, in fact, I think I am one, though I never go to church...
I am simply an anilitical teenage girl who really needs to express her opinions. Please don't yell at me simply because I am telling you what I think. I will not bash ANYONE with a different opinion, and I don't expect you to not bash me. Just letting you know that.

My question is can you please express your own opinions, and this isn't a rant, it's my version of a preach. I don't sign up for blog sites, because I simply don't feel the need to be a member at another stupid site that I will only use every two months, though they send me five emails a day.

I am not legislating my morality on the rest of society, nor do I feel I have the right to. I am expressing my opinions, considering I am exploring another religion (Wicca). I have always had these opinions though, and nothing makes me feel the right to say or think that everyone should agree with me. Like I've said, I'm expressing my opinions as a person. The higher power I believe in is in fact not God, though I believe that if there IS a God, he would be a higher power. I'm not suggesting that he's not, just saying that I believe in a different one.

For the record, I'm thirteen, I'm figuring my way through life, and expressing my opinions. I honestly have no idea why anyone would think I thought it would be okay to think that I'm right, or "Legislate my morality," because I DON'T know if it's right. I don't believe in half the theories I read, and believe it or not, I think Einstein was crazy. But that's why he was smart. He came up with these things that people couldn't even comprehend unless explained. He didn't worry about other peoples thoughts and feelings toward him. I'm personally the same way, but I'm curious to see how many people in the world agree with me on this one little or big, depending on how you look at it, topic.

Express away! Until the government takes away that right too! Yeah, I see you point (Why I am Wicca.) I have found that I have a deeper relationship with the Deity than I did with Catholicism! I switched in '94. I think taking responsibility for ones actions is a plus! The early church had the guidelines, but corrupt administration. Oh well, I do respect the different religions for their beliefs and believe that those who do that is THEIR path. There are many to Salvation. I just chose one different from what the book religions believe. I also think each can learn from the other. That is why I am always studying the World Histories!

You said:

"No, I do not have anything against christians or catholics, in fact, I think I am one, though I never go to church..."

if you don't beleive in god why you saying things like that... isn't it stupid to think that way? that's the problem with this world.. I don't believe in it yet I will label myself as one of them... here are some of the facts...

the original sin had nothing to do with sex.. it's a metaphore... eating of the tree of knowledge.. knowing good and evil... then we have to look at it in the context of what that would mean today... and how the evolution of humanity and how that fits in...

Humans evolved through 2 paths.. natural and religious... in religion good and evil are defined... and spoken of...

in nature ... human conscience evolved.... evolution is a slow constant process with human conscience the concept of right and wrong.... with it humans began to notice that right and wrong and the church's good and evil were opposite.... getting back to the "original sin" knowledge of good and evil... comes with the understanding that Evil defined good and evil and is the foundation of all religions... religions are a form of slavery... what people call gods are all human... and knowing this would destroy religion and the hold it has on the human race.. that is why the church says it's sin....

What they call as deadly sin is natural human behavior.. also evolved... lust.. is actually the drive to procreate... greed... actually need... when we are hungry we eat... thirsty we drink... happy we celebrate... all these things that drive us to act on our own behalf... sloth.. sleep... we need rest it's natural.. forcing the feelings of guilt to our natural behavior weakens us mentally and physically that's why they use these particular traits to condemn...

There is no evidence of any higher power, deities or gods. If believing in one or more of these make you feel betterthen fell free to do so. However your belief does not change the facts, nor does it grant you the right to legislate your morality on the rest of society.

I understand your point of view. The bible can be interpreted in many ways which can confuse people. To be honest with you, many people who believe in God, believes there has to be a reason for everything. We don't know where we came from and how we got here on earth. We don't know the actual origins of man. Everything is a theory.

God is a "higher power". I personally don't feel my life is pathetic as you may think because I choose to believe in God.

I will look to the sky and pray for you so that God gives you the wisdom to see what we see. For those who believe.

Yet, you still seem to be here.. searching for something. Why? Is there some problem with this paradigm that you have described here?

Perhaps, science and a skeptical reasoned approach is providing cold comfort and you are hoping someone here will provide some enlightenment about your spiritual side.

I am glad you believe something. I am sad that you are insecure enough to feel oppressed by the beliefs of others. I wish this had bene a question for discussion instead of a personal rant.

You should put this on Craigslist Rants and Raves. I don't know what answer you are looking for. Good luck finding whatever it is you're looking for.
