I was once a Buddhist because my parents were Buddhist but now I'm an Atheist. My reason was because I saw no good logic behind any religion. The reason is because religion is involved with politics, in order to keep order in our society. Fear is a powerful weapon, we use gods to control each other's actions. Why did the kings, emperors, lords, and tyrants claim that they are the messenger of the gods?

Simple so people would fear them, no one would dare to defy the name of a god back then. How do we know if the gods chose them to rule? We were uneducated back then and believed any higher authority. My explanation, whats your's?

Thanks for reading.

Organized religions are constructs of man designed to control other men.

If there is a God (and as an Agnostic I'm kinda doubting there is, but if...) then that God, or Gods, surely does not require membership in a 'church/religion' before he or she grants you access.

But that is exactly what many churches/religions would have you believe.

What religions really are, are political entities that wield power (access to God) over their members in order to raise money, for political purposes, and for their own self aggrandizement.

As a Buddhist, I can only hope that you see the error of your ways and convert back to Buddhism before you are reincarnated as a snake.
Just Kidding.
I think religions were invented by man to explain that which they could not explain. It gave them a sense of calmness and hope. Plus it was a good way to push their agendas (patriarchal as they were) on others.

Your cursory look entitles you to yet yet another uninformed opinion. And sure atheists and agnostics and skeptics have their place in this classification, as they have a prosperous non secular and ethical existence - they simply have not got any choose for non secular and prepared delusions. > Having subsequently basically taken a > cursory look on the religion & Spirituality > section, i'm surprised on the vitriol and bile > spat out by employing "atheists".

It is very useful for those without any real authority to claim divine guidance.
