Its winter it is supposed to be cold! Or so I keep telling myself!
It is cold here also and we usually can wear shorts and run the airconditioner this time of year! Where did the warmth go?

Not sure which part of the NE of Scotland you're in. Current temps there range from 0.0°C in Lerwick to 4.7°C at Loch Glascarnoch. Wick is 2.1°C, Inverness is 3.3°C and Aberdeen is 3.8°C. Only some of the data is in but it looks like the coldest spot in the NE of Scotland during the day was Aviemore where the temps hovered around the 2°C mark (it was warmer during the night than the day).
These temps are pretty much the norm for this time of year being about 1°C above the long term average for the time of day and the time of year.
Personally I hope temps drop considerably and we can finally have a descent skiing season in Scotland. As you'll know, there's nowhere better for going out on the piste. If it gets too cold you can always rely on uisge beatha, no amount of cold can ever beat it.

Maybe it has already arrived.
Global warming will have significant impact on many aspects of our planet. As the ice caps melt, it will reduce the saliity of the oceans, which will chjange the direction of ocean currents, which could mean the Gulf Stream will no longer moderate the temperature of Britain. Take a look at a global map of what other places are at the same or a similar latitude. Britain could turn into another Greenland Iceland.
Enjoy life wile you can.

Actually, if you watch "The Day After Tomorrow," (like it's real!), you see that the UK freezes into a block of ice, because of some weird salinity thing in the Gulf Stream.

Cold where you are?
The folks from Alaska are complaining that the Arctic ice is shrinking which is apparently true, but it;s also believed that the Antarctic ice is increasing. There is noticible warming, but it's not global.

A cynical attitude of denial is neither humorous or healthy. I will applaud your government for their efforts in showing responsibility. Perhaps you should be more responsible and not post such light hearted questions to a serious topic.
Read Below From the BBC News:
MSPs unanimously backed a Scottish Government motion on the annual sea fishing talks, supporting ministers in negotiating a "fair and just" deal and highlighting the leadership shown by Scottish fishermen on sustainable fishing.
Parliament also unanimously agreed a Labour amendment, which said more work needed to be done to create a "truly sustainable fishery" in the North Sea and called for work to drastically reduce the practice of discards.

Don't you know that cold is proof that global warming is real?
Your freezing temperatures are proof that man is causing the destruction of the planet since it has never been cold where you live ever before in the history of the Earth.
