Dash of vermouth
2 ounces premium gin (or vodka)
Green olive
Take a chilled martini glass and add a dash of vermouth. Swirl vermouth around and pour it out. In a separate mixing glass full of ice, put gin. Stir it with a bar spoon and strain into the chilled martini glass and garnish with a fresh olive.
Cheers!

First off, there are only two to three ingredients in a martini, Appletinis and Chocotinis should not be named this. It is an insult to the true Martini.
That being said lets move on.
1. Fill a martini glass with ice and set to the side.
2. Fill a shaker with ice.
3. Add vodka or gin to the shaker and well shake.
4. Dump the ice out of your chilled glass.
5. Pour about and ounce of vermouth into the glass ans swirl so that the glass is coated with the vermouth.
6. Dump out the vermouth and add vodka/gin.
7. Garnish with one of the following: olive, onion, Lemon zest wedge.
8. Enjoy... if the vodka/gin is to much for you to handle you may add a dash of vermouth you pansy.

Martini is 2 gins+ one white vermouth. Dry is 1/2 vermouth, very dry is little or no vermouth. Sub. vodka and it's a Gibson. Martini gets an olive, Gibson gets a pearl onion.

Recipe for the PERFECT martini:
Fill a chilled glass with your favorite gin (or vodka if you prefer), then whisper the word "vermouth" over the glass. Anymore vermouth than that will ruin the martini.
No olives please.
