When he was 5 months he would eat baby food from a spoon but not any more his father started putting his food in a bottle and that is the only way we can get him to eat. He won't even touch solid food. He spits it right out. I tried putting some dried cereal and pieces of fruit and veggies in front of him so that he can self feed put he throws it to the floor. I tried putting it in his mouth so that he can taste it and maybe realize that it tastes good but he closes his mouth and turns his face. Now every time I go close to his face with a spoon or any food he closes his mouth and turns his face. I've been giving him puree foods in his bottle like sweet potatoes and bananas and peas etc, etc. but I feel like if I continue to do this he will never learn to eat. His doctor suguested that I take away the bottle and wait till he is hungry and then try to feed him but it hasn't been working he would just fall asleep hungry. Please someone help me!

Children will not starve themselves simply put. He may go to bed hungry but if you offer him food again on a spoon he'll have to eat. Just don't give him the option of the bottle again. I know it's hard but that's tough love.
Good luck.

docs will advise which you wait till they're six months or older till now introducing infant food. They declare that their digestive systems isn't waiting for stable ingredients yet. in spite of the shown fact that, being a discern... I gave my childrens infant food extra or less around 4-5 months. i all started with rice or oatmeal cereals, in an particularly small yet soupy, mixture. I enable them to style it, and that they eagerly ate all of it. Your infant might adventure a sprint gas or soreness after the 1st or 2nd feeding, yet save them up a a million/2 hour and save them nicely burped. Bottle or breast feeding is critical in an infant enhance; yet often times they're so hungry... a sprint cereal won't harm.

first off, why on earth did you ever start putting food in his bottle?? at 18 months he should be on ALL table food and drinking from a sippy cup. Stop putting food in a bottle and offer him table food, he eventually will eat it. make sure you are giving him vitamins and offer him milk in a cup instead of the bottle, you have to be persistant and stick with it.. he will cry and scream for his bottle but you have to make sure you do not give in, or you are just going to dig yourself deeper!

Have you tried letting him feed himself. It is messy I know. This was the only way to get anything into my daughter.
