There are no stupid cats. Only stupid people.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

Catz are far from stupid! They have to be taught-like children. Digging is a natural thing to do~
So-keeping that in mind...covering your pots with foil is the best, non- toxic, simple & inexpensive way. They hate the sound & feel of it.
Water spray works but only if your there! Maybe kitty doesn't like the litter..if you clay ....try the clumping...better for digging.
If all else falls....Move the plants so they are not at cat level. Never hit the cat for doing something natural.Good Luck

Simplest way is to cut a cardboard circle with a hole in the center and a slice to the hole, twist it and put it around the plant. It will cover the dirt.

You can also load up pine cones all around the plant, so the cat has nowhere to step. Or stick pencils in point out to deter the cat from going closer.

Usually the cardboard circle works though. Remove it to water the plant.

Umm it seems to like soil, put some soil in the litter box. Also try covering your plants with something or move your plants into another room that the cat cannot get into. Then the cat will have nothing to pee in and will have to go in the litter box. Then when the cat is used to going into the litter box you can bring your plants back in their original places. Hop I helped!!!

Put some screen on the top of the dirt. Your going to need to repot it now so it doesn't smell. Once a cat marks, it will continue to go back there. Also, cats don't like tape. Put some two sided tape across the top of the pot several times in a grid pattern. Your cat won't want to step on it.

Another way to discourage this behavior is to place large rocks or similar material on top of dirt in plants, leaving them no area to dig in. I would also replace the soil that the cats have soiled and spray with odor destroying enzyme product for a while. This method has worked for me.

I have heard that citrus and peppercorns work!

Try things that are non toxic to you kitty!

I know that you can buy an alarm that only cats can hear as a deterant to keep them off grass, I am sure you would be able to find something similar, in a hardware store!

Good luck xx

p.s you could try a water spray

i'm told cats don't like citrus scents, so if you look for a citrus spray from a pet shop that is safe to use with a cat around it might help, otherwise ask someone at a place like petsmart or something, they could help you.

you can try to put some soil in it's litter if it seems to preffer soil. also try covering the soil in your pots with aluminum foil. but it has been my experience that a dirty cat is a dirty cat and you may want to give that one to the pound and try another one. not all cats are like that. this one sounds like it has been outdoors and has become accustomed to going in dirt versus litter
