I would use a purification incense like Frankincense or Muhr so as not to attract undesirable spirits.

Not off the top of my head, I need to look up my notes on incense. These are either down in my workshop in the basement or still in CA at my mom's old place. If the later I will have them by Sunday next IF they don't get put in storage until spring. In the meantime I will do some research for you if you would like. It keeps coming to me that what the churches use (frankincense and myrrh) during the holidays might be close to what you might need. Again, I would like to double check to be sure. The question is why are needing to do this?

Frankincense and myrrh work best IME. Be sure to burn a bit of sage to cleanse first and afterwards to make sure it's cleansed then too. You might also want to give them an offering....food and drink are great. They also love music for some reason.

Why do you need incense ? Dead people can't smell it , but you can smell them .
When will stupid superstitions ever end ? This isn't the Midieval days .

Don't know, haven't tried it. Though I would suggest that if you are going to try it you really need to know what you doing.
My correspondence book lists both Mugwort and Wormwood.

Try going here and do a search for "necromancy" in the box on the left. You'll find several answers.
