No, today is nothing like back in the 1980's. Why because statically juveniles has the highest rate of crime. In the 80's you can get away with anything as a juvenile, today there are harsher punishment for juveniles. So if I were you I stay away from getting into trouble. Go to school and become a professional something make a lot of money the legal way. Stay away from your friends that are misbehaving because they going to suck you into there problems.

Is the crime a felony or a misdemeanor? That will determine whether the sentence is harsh or leniant, whether it will go to juvenile court or regular court. Also, the judge will take into account any previous infractions with the law. If you are a teenager, you already know the differnce between right and wrong, so don't break any laws.

it depends on the nature of the crime and if its your first offence.
although in my opinion, kids who commit a crime shouldnt be treated any different from the adults, they already know right from wrong, they decided to screw up thier lives and they should pay the consequences. how else are they going to learn? if parents have done all they can to teach them good values and the kids decide to go left instead of right, then the child is at fault and learn to live with the consequences of his or her actions.

Yes, being a minor usually always will get you a lighter sentence unless you are tried as an adult.
