Abundance (living more abundantly) is more than just material possessions, but there is nothing wrong with having nice things. We just can't put our faith in our bank account. A deeper walk with God, loving family and friends, good health, and peace of mind are all things I cherish more than a bigger house or faster car, just to help put things in perspective.
Respectfully

If you think your skills as a liar are going to be able to sneak you pass the I-see-you, big Kahuna, you really need to see a shrink in order to deal with all those delusions you are harboring. Besides, if you think God is that much of an idiot, why are you trying to be good for him anyway?
And abundance can mean any number of things: having a closet full of clothes doesn't mean one has an abundant life, many people substitute shopping excursions in place of that gaping whole they call 'personal fulfillment.' Alot of people also spend alot of time on their knees and praying in a futile pursuit of the same.
Happiness is personal, and a happy person makes other people happy, if for no other reason then they make them happy when they are around them. Happiness is also the thing people are willing to sacrifice for: if your house is burning and all you drag out of it is a box of photos and a wine cask you stole from the restaurant where you had your first date, its a good indication all the sable coats hanging in your closet really didn't make you as happy as you thought.
So, stop trying to fool God by averting your eyes when you see that Gucci bag (or whatever it is you are looking at.) Sometimes, the son needs to be given their inheritence (and spend it) in order to discover what wealth truly means.

Do you serve God, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob? Or do you serve the "god of this age", Satan, the father of lies? The "finer things in life" on this earth are not important to those who already posses the greatest Gift of all......the Gift of eternal life in the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

No God is not against you having things, he is against things having you. Even the scriptures about tithe and offering says that God is willing to pour you out a windows of heaven blessing so voluminous you will not have place to put it.
Malachi 3:10
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Indeed, you are correct Christ is NOT God. The truth is the truth and nothing changes it. It doesn't matter what others "think'. A truth isn't changed, just because a person does not to accept or believe it.

everyone puts everything they do before the Lord... they only way to not put anything before the Lord is to survive strictly off what He gives you after first taking everything you got.
