Do 16-20 year olds put on aprons to help their parents cook?

They should but I have never seen any 16-20 years wear an apron come to think of it. I have seen them in kitchen though helping out and even cooking.

I wore one at that age, and now at 29 I practically live in one, as soon as I do any kind of cleaning I wear a pinny (apron) as well, and I still manage to ruin clothes with bleach etc. However my other half can clean the whole house bleach the bathroom and the kitchen and not get a spec of much on him even though he doens't wear one. Who needs an apron huh ;o)

I did... as a result I learned to look after myself and be independent. its good to take responsibility at a young age.
but I think its a matter of culture. most 16-20 yr olds cant even clear up after themselves...

No, im 16 and i don't. I never really use an apron and i cook all the time.

Depends on the person and whether or not they care about their clothing. Of my 6 kids, all of them wore aprons in the kitchen unless they were in sweats and 'grabbing' fruit, cookies, etc.. They also grew up with the idea that you work hard for what you have and should take care of it. And I wear/wore one.

I helped my mother cook at that age, neither of us wore aprons though.

I'm 17. I 'get in the way' when I help. So when I cook for myself, I wear one - only coz I know more of what I'm making will end up down me than in the bowl!

If they wana keep all the crap off their clothes yes. And 16-20 year olds usually have good clothes! Hu cares wt u look like! haha
