Hi, last night I received a criminal citiation for operating a motor vechile with a suspended license. I did not get arrested. It was suspended because of chargeable events on my record. I also need to pay a ticket. I plan on paying the ticket and attending a driver retraining program. Also, 10 years ago I was caught driving with a suspended license. It was continued without a finding. I'm very nervous about this. What is the most likely punishment? I am willing to admit my mistake and pay the fines, do community service etc. I don't want to go to jail though. I'm a good person and have never been arrested.

Not knowing what your entire driving record is, you may want to contact the court, and speak with one of the SA/DA to see what the penalty might be, or what options are available. This link might answer some of your questions.

Mass is a hard state to drive around in.. and I'm not talking about potholes. I had a mail issue and didn't recieve the one letter that was sent about my license being suspended from an unpaid parking ticket (that, I was ALSO unaware of.. I suppose it blew away??) So one day, I was on my way to dinner with a friend, the next thing I knew I was being pulled over and were threatening me with handcuffs and calling for a tow truck to take my jeep away... worst expirience of my life... up until that point, I hadn't even had a SPEEDING ticket!

As far as my story went, I had to pay off the parking tickets first off.. obviously.. and the fees were exorbitant..again, obviously. Then I had to go into court with all the other delinquents and stand before the judge. I represented myself, pled guilty (it was pointless to argue my point of the failed postal service) and payed about 300 in fines, there.. then another 200 to get my Jeep back from the impound.

Its a costly situation.. but I really don't believe that you'll go to jail for it. I don't know what will happen due to your prior offense, seeing as how it was a decade ago... but, I guess we all just have to deal with what life throws at us. At the court, there will be a legal advisor and should the subject of prison comes up.. that's when you beg for an attorney.. otherwise, it shouldn't be necessary. It never hurts to call the courthouse and ask some questions, as well. Be as prepared as you can be... and bring your checkbook :(

It's not like you killed someone, or was driving drunk, afterall.. and they see a million of these a day... I was seriously 1 out of 17 people there for the same thing that day.

best of luck.
keep an eye out for those certified letters from the DMV, if you are lucky enough to recieve them... what do they say about an ounce of prevention? Yeah. Keep your head up.

It might final result your capacity to deliver a firearm. Just fill out the program for the license honestly and query the police in the event that they deny your license to deliver applicant. If it was once thrown out you then probably in a position to possess and deliver a gun. Although maintain in brain there are lots of areas you CANNOT deliver a gun, regardless of a license to deliver! Such as any university (public or personal even faculties), courtroom condominium, personal corporations, and so on. You can stroll round public with a gun underneath your garments (hid most effective in Mass) however do not cross INTO a constructing considering the fact that you would get arrested for having a gun in that manufacturer/trade.

You might be a good person but you have a hard time following the rules. Being a repeat offender the judge may come down hard on you and lets face it, we all have to pay for our mistakes. When you go to court bring one of two things, a good lawyer or your toothbrush.

"Good people" don't have a problem obeying the law. Repeat offenders don't impress judges. They don't ask what you are "willing" to do. Get a good attorney.
