Ok, I have this document that is a .doc and since I don't have MS Word, I cannot open it. I am asking for someone with MS Word to give me their email address so I can email them the document and then they can copy and paste the words and stuff in the document and then send it to me as an email.

Don't worry it's just a bathroom scale manual.

Thanks,
Stephen

You can try downloading Word Viewer2003 from Microsoft. It has no editting capabilities but should allow you to open and view your document.

You can also try using OpenOffice if you want a full suite.

Both of the above are free.

Download and install "Open Office". It's a complete set of office productivity tools. It contains a very good word processor that will open and edit .doc's. It also comes with a spread sheet, a good graphics editor, a presentation program, and much more. With Open Office installed on your computer you will have no need for Microsoft's over priced Office suite.

You can get Open Office at:

You can download the free AbiWord or the OpenOffice office suite to open .doc files. Moreover is OpenOffice is a fully featured replacement to the Microsoft Office package.

why don't you just open it in wordpad or change the extension to whatever your word-processor reads?
