OKAY PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE IT LOSES OIL DOSE NOT MEAN IT BURNS OIL.
you have a few options
REAR MAIN SEAL IS LEAKING OIL INTO THE BELL HOUSING
CHECK THE COLOR OF YOU COOLANT IF IT LOOKS LIKE A CHOCOLATE SHAKE ITS LEAKING INTO THE COOLANT.
AND LAST IF YOU HAVE VERY EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF EXHAUST FUMES THEN THE OIL IS NOT BEING WIPED CLEAN OFF THE CYLINDER WALLS. AND ITS BURNING UP WITH THE FUEL. IF THIS IS HAPPENING YOU WILL ALSO FIND GAS IN YOUR CRANK CASE (or the oil pan) BECAUSE IF OIL IS GETTING BURNED THE FUEL IS SLOWLY BUILDING UP IN THE CRANKCASE.
ANOTHER OPTION TO THE BURNING OIL THEORY IS THAT ONE OF THE VALVES MAY NO LONGER BE SEALED AND THE OIL IS LEAKING IN.

Your car is probably older and has some worn piston rings. The engine running will pass more oil into the pistons and burn it in the combustion process. That's why some cars smoke more than others. All cars burn oil, but cars with better piston ring seals burn a lot less. I would try things like STP or like products. That should help. However, it is a permanent thing, you just need to check your oil more often and top it off between quarterly changes.

you propose when you're taking it to the recycle middle? recycled right into a lighter weight of oil. in an engine, some is going as "blow by potential of" and gets wiped out interior the cylinder. or if the seals, gaskets and sealed bearings are failing, then some can migrate into the coolant device, and likewise merely leak out onto the floor, or while an oil replace is complete by potential of somebody who does not care with reference to the ecosystem, the oil finally ends up finally the two interior the floor>floor water furnish, or lakes and streams, and from there into the nutrition chain, so finally, interior the little organisms that are eaten by potential of the bigger ones, etc to the little fish that are eaten by potential of the bigger fish, and someplace alongside the line placed on our table at dinner. particularly lots used oil, finally ends up lower back interior us one way or yet another... controlling us very like that "oil" on the "X-records" gee ask your self whether that grow to be a metaphor...

are you getting blue smoke from the exhaust? if so you are burning oil.
Do you have oil in your coolant / water if so maybe leaking from the head?
are you thrashing the car if so you will use a lot of extra oil.

Your jeep is most likely burning the oil, instead of it leaking out. You should first try a higher concentration of oil before you do any major costly repair

How quickly is it using its oil? Maybe you are burning oil. Have someone drive behind you and accelerate hard. Ask them is heavy bluish/black smoke is coming from your exhaust.

check your water for oil...you could have head gasket going bad or a cracked head.
Wipe you finger inside the tail pipe. if you have oil residue of any sort you have ablow head gasket. it will get worse over time and you will begin to lose power and see heating cooling problems.
