Wish I knew, guess that when we let someone in we can get a bit vunerable n let our guard down, so if something goes wrong it's more likely to hurt. Thats not to say that it will always hurt though, as much as I have been hurt I'm still sure that when its all completely healed love is what makes this life worth while.

Love hurts when someone we care about disappoints us. Whether by breaking off a relationship, not being faithful, etc...
When we want someone to care about us as much as we do them and they don't, that's when love hurts.
Its hard to seperate our minds from our hearts. Most of the time if we were just analytical creatures, logic would tells why care. Someone hurts you, you leave without a care. But being human and having feels, we can't always do that.
We do have the ability to recover and in time the smarter part of us will prevail and allow us to move on.

It hurts when you give too much and gets so little in return. It hurts when your partner gives you too much and yet you return very little. The only way ot does not hurt is when you strike a balance. You have many chance to strike that balance but rarely do you suceed.
