Gratuitous violence for the sake of a storyline, or explicit sex between two people on televison or a movie screen? The reason I ask is in America, we're allowed to see a guy get his brains blown out, but not naked breasts or hetero-sex between consenting adults; in Europe, they are allowed to watch men and women having sex on TV, but violence is limited to inference, not spraying blood and gunfire. I'll take the sex, thanks...what do you think???

I'd say graphic violence is far worse. The US is still a fairly young country with some growing up left to do. We generally have a very immature attitude toward sex.

I would say that sex is better for children to see, though neither are GOOD at a young age. Sex is a natural physical activity that most all people engage in at one time or another. It's acctually better to be exposed to it a little before the child is in the situation, because then they will know how to react. Violence is something people should try and angage in as little as possible and should be limited. I agree with you completely. I would rather see sex than violence and would much rather have the children of the next generation be kept from this as much as possible. yup. sex.

I never heard of anyone being f@cked to death; but we Americans are so desensitized by violence, we've had sex and sexual enjoyment snuffed out by the Bible-thumpers and Moral Majority(of which they are neither moral, nor the majority!!!) that we've gotten used to seeing the awful things that people can do and none of the nice things. I'll vote for sex being the less malignant of the two...I've enjoyed European TV on many occassion; which is why I think they have a healthier attitude towards sex than we do!

Violence. Your killing their emotions and actually providing a reason for violence. Ofcourse fighting solves the issue (but through a hard method), but resolving it without a fight saves everybodies ego.
Everybody (excluding nuns and some weird people in the world) likes sex. I dont see why they should be restricted to seeing it earlier rather than later. It also educates them more, so they aren't as vunerable.
People used to make babies at the age of 13, and get married at 15 cause of short life expectancy. Basically, its cause of backward thinking adults who dont get any of 'it' (baby making that is), connotate all these bad ideas to sex.

Irresponsible sex can influence younger audiences as much as the blood and guts and be a dangerous. I hate to see either of them by censored by the government to where we wouldn’t have a choice. I believe that should be left to the parents in hopes that the parents would be responsible enough to explain and the children would feel comfortable enough to ask. If only we had simple answers to simple question. This all leads into a huge debate. LOL I guess it all boils down to responsibility… personally I don’t mind watching either of them.

I would think that violence is far more dangerous...Sex is a natural thing and eventually the person will be involved with it...violence, on the otherhand, is not necessary and hopefully will never happen...most of it is exaggerated anyway

depends how young because by the time you get to a certain age we will all know about sex. i also think that knowing about sex will help more in the long run but i cant see how seeing someone have their head blasted open could ever help a young person xxx

Blow up your tv I wouldn't want my child to see either. I would rather see blood and guts than sex. Usually sex scene aren't nessasary but death scenes are. Can you imagine Platoon without any killing? I can't stand mindless scenes in movies. And most sex scenes are mindless
