Cats dislike the smell of menthol or eucalyptus oil. Add a few drops to water and spray a mist of this over the tree. Surround the base of the tree with pine cones which you have also scented with menthol or eucalyptus. Cats also hate the feel of pine cones underfoot, so it will also stop them wanting to get to close to the tree.

Keeping your cat out of the room your Christmas tree is in. Or, you may have to give up one or the other. I would say give up the tree. They are so annoying to take down at the end of the holidays anyway...

Or, don't get a full blown Christmas tree, get a pretty, table sized one that your cat hopefully can't get to. Decorate in other ways to make up for not having such a large one.

spray him with a spray bottle with wter in it.when he tries hell learn and know what hapens if he tries to knock it down
