About as hard as it is to make a living ivy or grapevine.
Real religions are living entities that spring out of a specific culture or people; the same with languages.
I could get out of bed tomorrow and say "I am founding a new church called 'The Church of Jon M', and maybe even have the government recognize it as a religious organization, but it still would not satisfy the definition of a true religion.
Now, demoninations seem to be a bit easier to found, but they are usually sub-sets of a religion.

It depends how ambitious you are? You can have your own religion all unto you self - that should be pretty easy. Convincing other is more difficult. Than again, it depends on what you is to convince other of and what you promise in return, and how convincing you are.
When you come up with something new, especially something as sensitive as religion, some people may love you but the majority will probably shun you and that is where the biggest difficulty lies.

not hard at all in actuality kiddo .. all it takes is one person that has charisma , he enters into a church and soon gets folks stirred up .. makes a few accusations like itsfor their own good and people like sheep being led into slaughter all feel he be correct ,, , usually its already a festerring in many and is easily brought to a boil with the right fuel/, they split from that church he then is a new leader and makes up his own rules,, . many churches have split because of diseention between leaders and their congregation ,, disasisfaction grows ---
just like how luicifer when in heaven was not happy he was not the leader his tale of woe caused 1/3 of the angels to believe he was right and GOD was wrong.. ,, a lie is a powerful tool ,, it is used every week in churches to control folks .. half truths here and add a little dazzle and display like a politcian , like td jakes and paula white and many on tbn ceflo dollar and the copelands and u have millions of dollars being sent to u pump up the organ etc etc,, , now when u know what truth is the n u wont be beguiled by a good speaker ,, u learn that its a team effort and by being diveded u are more easily conquered .. bro murray

It was Ron Hubbard who is reported to have said that if you want to make a lot of money, found a religion. He founded Scientology.
So it's not impossible, but it's not that easy if you want to convert lots of people to your way of thinking, and make lots and lots of lovely money.
It has also been said that the best way to found a religion is to die, and then rise from the dead. Difficult to argue with that!

Hmmmm, let's see...You will need a doctrine, or doctrines, preferably contained in a Holy Book. Your Holy Book must also claim divine inspiration, or at least a mysterious origin.
If you are the leader, then you will need followers, otherwise you will have nobody to lead!
But in order to have followers, you will need charisma, a certain something in your personality.
Hope that helps.

Verry hard, if not impossible... you would need a good sized following before u can even be considered a cult and then after that you might be able to be considered to be a religion. but it most likley wont happen

Of course it helps to have fellow believers/followers. Get one of those Ministerial documents from Universal Life Church:
http://www.themonastery.org/?destination=ordination
That website can help you along. Also helps to have a cohesive faith, belief philosophy or doctrine, but not absolutely necessary.
