It would depend on what you do while wearing the shirt.

Like other posters say, it depends on what you do and what the shirt says. If it just says "New Jersey State Police" with a emblem, probably no issue. If it has a actual name, badge number etc, it may be an issue. If you try and act like you are a cop and make others believe you are, by doing something stupid, then you would fall under impersonation. Plenty of places sell police shirts. NYC has its own web site where they sell NYPD shirts, FDNY shirts etc. They are just generic shirts that infer no authority.
If you don't do anything to draw attention to yourself, I wouldn't worry to much about it!

If it has badge and Patches YES! you'll be inpersonating an officer "now' if it's t-shirt n"NO" if its a different state "NO" just don't ear it to bar! bad idea, someone may say something sound more like knock around shirt fo r outdoor sports etc.

there is no problem as long as it is not a uniform shirt. you will be ok as long as you do not try to get people to believe you are a state officer.

Ask you cousin. He should know and it would reflect on HIM if you get into trouble wearing it.

not unless you say that you are a police officer or give the impression that you are one.

If it has any kind of badge I'd advise against it.
